Plex Not Working in Browser or Phones

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2164 and 1.18.6.2368-97
Player Version#: 4.24.1 (plexweb)

Starting yesterday I began to get reports of my plex server not working from users outside my house. My libraries were not showing or would only show occasionally. I was running the latest PMS 1.18.6.2368-97 on a Windows 10 machine and have been running without issues for years.

Anyway, after much rebooting, testing, and poking (including rolling back to 1.18.4.2164 (since I still had the install file and I knew it worked) I was unable to fix it. But I did determine the issue seems to only occur if a person, including myself, is trying to use Plex in a browser window or on a phone. If I use the Windows 10 app, the Mac app, or my Rokus everything works just fine.

I’m stumped. Even loading the server setting screen has been almost impossible as it is in a browser. Has anyone seen this, or more importantly have any idea on how to fix?

If you happen to be on Verizon Fios, I and others were having the same issue and the solution is in this thread.

Wow… I don’t know if I ever would have figured that out! I checked the fios app and it was on (don’t remember ever turning it on, especially lately) but when I turned it off and rebooted my plex server, things seem to be back to normal. Thanks everyone.
