Plex on 2021 Sony A80J, should I get a streamer?

Hi,

I’ve started using Plex a few months ago. I play videos on a plex app that’s on my Sony A80J Tv (google os, TV’s from around 2021). There’s sometimes small issues with it, but not sure if it’s just plex.

TL;DR. I was wondering if I should get a streaming device for better experience (performance, updates etc).

5 year old TV yep My 2 year old Samsung TV when I installed Google Streamer 4k the OS 3 times faster! Great for small library! In my case not enough ram for my library! My options now is go with Nvidia player…. I am now looking for laptops that have QuickSynk and 16 gigs of ram

I would go with some type of dedicated streaming device. They seem to be much better supported than a lot of the TVs.
