Plex on-demand and live TV error 500 since password reset

Error when trying to watch plex on-demand (life time pass) since password reset. Error "500 alright move on nothing to see here. Try refreshing the page, or going back and attempting the action again” as show below.

Visit support does not help since there is no customer e-mail for support. (very frustrating I may add)

Same issue is experienced with life TV. (as-if all plex.tv contect is blocked)

Plex account is set to allow all on-line sources. Happens on all players (Shield, Website direct, Samsung Tizen app).

What can one do to re-instate access?

Any chance you are in one of the countries that does not permit the service?

You have pointed me in the right direction. Would be better if the error read “region lock-out” instead of error code 500. Fellow South Africans, also complaining about this on other “local” forums indicated that our board for age appropiate content wants all programs to be rated. So offiically there is not an issue for permitting the service perse, it is Plex ‘s lack off or willingness to comply that seems to be the underlying problem. Tested again with VPN and the service is then accesable.

Frustratingly, PLEX did advertised you can watch on-demand and live TV “anywhere in the world” . Why no formal communication and/or retraction? Will Plex comply in future?

I agree the error message could be much better. A http error code is hardly descriptive of the situation.

The Plex documentation is clear where the service is and is not available.

I’ve no idea about the legal issues nor technical capabilities of how Plex delivers the service. Someone from Plex will have to respond to those issues.
