Plex only crashes when scrolling thru TV Show episodes, I can scroll thru Movies, Music Videos and Home Movies I am using the Standard Amazon Fire TV Stick and the Plex app and the Fire Stick is up to date

Same issue on my 4k fire box. Any time I try to browse my TV show episodes in my library the app crashes back to the app menu. If you need logs I can have them sent to my server and attach them. I did uninstall and download the latest version of the app.
Me too, Seems to happen randomly.
If I use the Plex APP on my IPhone or Windows 10 I have no problems scrolling thru the TV Shows Episodes, therefore I wouldn’t think that it is my Qnap Media server that is causing the problems. I can scroll across the recently added TV Show episodes in the main menu and play them that way, but that won’t allow me to go back to older episodes. This is a relatively recent problem
I just got a new 4K fire tv stick and had Amazon copy my profile to the new fire stick. Everything appears to be working fine. Maybe we need to factory reset the fire stick and start all over. The new fire stick cured my problems
Same problem with crashing while scrolling episodes on a Fire TV box. This started immediately after “upgrading” my libraries to the new metadata agents (and/or the related server update.) No issues scrolling shows or season but, depending on the show, as soon as I move as much one episode over Plex crashes to the Amazon interface.
Hello I also had a similar problem. Nothing seemed to work. It just so happens Amazon had a sale on fire tv sticks, so I got a new 4k fire tv stick. Once I set it up all of my problems disappeared. So I went back to my old problematic fire tv stick and factory reset it, the scrolling thru tv show episodes now works fine. Maybe a factory reset might work for you.
I’m having this problem with two Fire Sticks. When I open a season of a particular TV series and try to move through episodes it crashes. However, some TV shows don’t exhibit this problem. The behaviour and the particular series giving the issue is the same on both my Fire Sticks. I’ve seen this happening with other TV shows in the past. It’s very frustrating!
I can access the TV series in question via the Android phone app, a Chromecast TV stick and an LG TV app without any crashes,
I’ve tried a factory reset of the Fire Stick, but the behaviour persists.

I had the same issue. I’m not a huge fan of factory reset to cure a problem. In this case I don’t think that the issue is a Plex profile issue. When I bought my new 4K fire stick and the problem went away. I decided to factory reset my problematic fire stick and I haven’t had a problem since and that is 6 months of problem free TV show scrolling

Which version is that ? My Fire Stick has 9.3.1.33134 installed, and it’s still a problem. Crashes all the time. There has been several 9.4… beta releases, but no later update available on amazon appstore.

Fire devices, Plex and Wi-Fi do not mix well. My Wi-Fi was great for every single device and app in my house but not Plex for some reason.
Switching to ethernet solved almost all my crashing issues. I realize this isn’t possible for every situation, but if you can do it, I highly suggest it.
If you have the stick I know you can connect ethernet but you need an adaptor.
Not sure if they supply you with one now or not.
If you have to buy an aftermarket one, they’re only about 10 bucks. Just be aware that some of them will only allow up to 100 mbps (probably won’t matter) and some will give you the max speeds you have available.
Also, Amazon is notoriously slow with the approval of their app updates which always helps.
Besides the original poster I didn’t hear anybody mention what server version or OS they use. That leads me to believe there may be a compatibility issue here between all these factors not just the app version
I have the ethernet adaptor, but still I cannot navigate between episodes. Server is the latest release on synology, which I upgraded 2 days ago.
My plex client has now upgraded to 9.4.0.33297. Now you can navigate episodes on some shows, but not on others. For some shows the crash is immediate even when only 2 episodes in the season, while on show with 6 episodes never crashes. Array overflow ??
