Plex on LG C8 can't convert TrueHD to DD+ but if played through Shield TV Pro, it can

2 setups are:

  1. LG C8 <-> Sonos ARC
  2. Shield TV <-> LG C8 <-> Sonos ARC

If I play a TrueHD movie on the first setup on LG WebOS Plex, I received normal DD 5.1 on my Sonos. If I play the same TrueHD movie on the second setup on Shield Plex, I received DD+ Atmos 5.1 on my Sonos. So the question is:

Will Plex be able to fix the WebOS Plex client so that I don’t need to buy a shield while I have all the same set of apps on my TV?

Now I can clearly confirm that the LG C8 can convert TrueHD Atmos to DD+ Atmos (https://www.trustedreviews.com/how-to/hdmi-earc-sonos-arc-4035031) There is a workaround: if your TV supports Dolby Atmos decoding natively, such as LG’s 2018 OLED TVs, then the TV can decode the high-resolution Atmos input and re-encode it as Dolby Digital Plus to send to the Sonos Arc. )

I have a LG C9 and a Canton Smart soundbar 10.
And the same problem.
The Atmos movies are just Dolby Digital on my Soundbar :frowning:

TrueHD Atmos to DD+ Atmos…

Can someone confirm if this is something PLEX developers could implement for the WebOS PELX app, Or is it a limitation from the LG thats keeps the plex team from this feature.
