Hello everyone, I hope I can explain myself well.
Until a few months ago I had installed on my DIY NAS (Asrock J4105B-ITX Gemini Lake, 16Gb DDR4, SSd 500Gb, two 4T IronWolf HDs each in Raid/Mirror made with OMV) OpenMediaVault 5 and on the docker I had installed a container with Plex. A month ago, due to SSD problems, I had to change configuration and, having to reinstall everything, I thought of trying Proxmox, which I did not know.
Today, thanks to several nights spent awake, I managed to install two VMs on Proxmox (one with OMV6 and the other with Home Assistant), as well as various containers with Nextcloud, AdGuard, Wireguard etc.
Now the time has come to install dear Plex, but I have a huge doubt: should I install Plex on a Proxmox dedicated container, or on an OMV container? In the latter case could I use transcoding and again, would I have performance drops compared to Plex installed on native Proxmox container?
Consider that the two IronWolf HDs (full of media files) are in Raid/Mirror mode, which I have realized via software through OMV.
I hope I managed to explain myself well and that Google Tranlsate translated well ![]()
Hello and thanks
