Plex Serving Network Attached Media

I’ve been running the TrueNas Core Plex plugin for about 4 years now and happy with it’s performance.

I’m considering moving my Plex installation to a separate, more powerful machine with Proxmox VM and running it as a docker container.

However, I still intend on having my video and music file served from the original NAS. What type of lag or latency might I expect having Plex serving network attached media?

Overall shouldnt be that noticeable unless you have multiple streams at the same time

It will mostly be me either at home or using Plexamp remotely.
