Plex on Mac with HDHomeRun and AppleTV - LiveTV Weak Signal

Hi,

1GB Internet
Running Mac with Plex Server - Wired
AppleTV
HDHomeRun Duo

Setup … all went smooth except when I watch Live TV, I get 10 to 20 seconds and then pause, then a window “Weak Signal”

Looks like a lot of others have this problem, however, some are other configurations.

I’ve tried bandwidth settings, hardwired vs wireless, moving HDHomeRun, nothing helps.

Any suggestions?

If you are on a 1.14 or later you can go to https://app.plex.tv/web start a live tv session and click on the 3 dots to give you signal strength. Another way would be to use a browser and go to the IP address of the Duo and when you tune a channel check the summary for signal strength.

Interesting enough … went home and tested. Buffering stopped. Signal is 90% to 99%

AFAIK, Apple no longer includes the MPEG2 codec so Plex Server is probably transcoding to h.264 with the browser doing a better job than the IOS app. Is this the new UNO client for IOS?
