I have my MyCloud NAS running and running through 2017 model Samsung. Not sure my process. I know I have local discovery on GDM, and in my case listed tv ip address in section of networks allowed without authorization. At the same time I have secured connections set to required and do have it set to prefer secure on Samsung app. If still no luck there was a thread on setting up Samsung tv in the forum. It was not directed towards a MYCloud issue as it just being Samsung. Only issues when it comes to MyCloud is to be sure to select direct play in video, it does not handle transcoding well at all.
