Plex on Samsung Tizen - always buffering

Server Version#: Version 1.19.3.2764 installed on synology DS1019+ (Celeron J3455, 8GB RAM)
Player Version#: 4.25.2 on Samsung QE65Q8f with GBit-LAN connection

Player on samsung tv buffers a lot.

  • 50mbit/s H.265 4K mkv = buffers every 30 seconds
  • 35mbit/s H.265 4K mkv = buffers every 60 seconds
  • 0-15mbit/s = no buffering

It’s not a server problem. Server plays fine on other players.
And the built in samsung dlna player plays 60mbit/s mkv good!

When playing is it driect playing or transcoding?

I found with a lot of the 4K content I have the audio required a transcode which resulted in buffering. I switched to an audio stream that allowed direct play and it plays fine
