Hello,
In past it was possible for me to play mkv Movies with dts directly. Since I updated my server(QNAP) to version 1.15.3.876 and my player to 3.90.2 PLEX always transcode DTS into AAC. The problem is defenetly not my setup, because when I play the same mkv Movie directly with an plugged in USB Stick in the TV, DTS works fine.
I cant defenetly tell if the problem is the server version or the player, because I updated them both at nearly the same time.
The checkbox for DTS(DCA) is activated, but it has no effect.
I hope someone can help me with that problem.
Sorry for my bad english, but it is not my mother tongue.
I’m having the EXACT same issue with my 55 Samsung and also both LG’s.
Used to be flawless (even with my Sonos 5.1) on the old version. Playing original file over my wired network worked a treat. Now I can only get stereo at best…tried numerous options. Wht’s going on PLEX?
Also having issues with lines of code appearing on my Samsung TV since the last major upgrade. not even usable there.
Is it possible to downgrade the Server version on the QNAP? I also run it this way…even If I can restore it back to how it used to be would be a huge step forward
Sorry, yeah that’s what I meant. Sonos sees it as DD5.1
I have now resolved it though. Each of my MOVIES with DTS 5.1 is set to ‘play original quality’ on my LAN, and working fine. Tried 3 movies and each has the DTS audio stream showing in the Plex client settings.
I factory reset my TV (I did historically try just uninstalling the PLEX app - didn’t work) Changed nothing on the server side
There is no transcoding going on at all that I am aware of. My QNAP resources are sitting 8% CPU.
