Plex on Synology died once per day

Server Version#: 1.16.2.1297
I am very frustrated. For me it looks like they add features but the application getting more and more unstable. Right now with the last update the Plex server on my Synology (918+) died once per day. Logfile (debug mode) doesn’t show the reason.

I have 2 Synology and both of them makes that trouble. After they died, I must ssh to th econsole and kill some plex proceses like Tuner and imdb agent. Right now Plex doesn’t work for me.

And in additional I cannot donwgrade. Its forbidden by Synology.

I have that version in DS218+ and it works without problem. Which version DSM do you have? I didn’t update to the latest one yet.

Did you do Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users ?

Hi,
@OttoKern
I don*t have a problem with media is not visible or accessible. Do you read the thread or is this just a bot that answer on all topics that had Synology tagged?

@resuarez
I always update to the latest version for security reason. That snot always a good idea, I know.

Edit: I stop my PlexPy and the second Plex Server to make sure it have no side effects from that
Edit2: Remove one library that contains also ISO files. Looks like it runs now better. Runs now longer than 24h without hick up.

Plex died again at Synology. Looks like it has nothing to do with the music library.
I start today a manual media library update and it dies after that.

What a mess

If I may augment?

How many music tracks are you trying to add all at once?
The Synology is pretty easy to overload. It’s only a 2000 passmark machine.

Hi,

I only use it for movies and tv shows. I have a lot of them. But I use a DS918 with 16GB RAM. So a powerful machine and in additional I never had that problem in the past. So they made something in the code that is not stable enough. AND, it can be slow but a process that dies in not a good code.

Hi,

excuse me. It was not my intention to offend anyone. I just found it inappropriate as soon as Synology appeared to write the standard news about new security. Maybe my words weren’t right. I would start a new post now, as I now have more information suggesting that it is on the new dashboard.
And sorry again. I’m gonna get better.
