Plex Media Server Logs_2021-04-01_15-46-34.zip (4.3 MB)

Log file was take right after system had crashed and I had restarted the service

Looking for any help to work out why plex keeps stopping.

Thank you for the logs.

Two things:

  1. For android, which is the main reason to crash, go get the beta (either 8.15 or 8.16 – not sure current beta version)

  2. For PMS, upgrade to 1.22.2.4264 - Another issue was fixed there with the hubs (also a reason to crash) . This is the more likely solution because your logs show the hub being accessed just before it crashed.

Thanks for super fast reply ill give that ago and report back.

Whats the easiest way to find that android beta install?

Do I need to side load it?

I use the adb (android developer’s tool) to load it.
It should be available for all OS’s.

You can enter/leave beta access in the Google Play store.

Go to the Plex app in the Google Play store on your device (not on the web page). Scroll down. You should see the option to enter/leave beta access between the Developer Contact and About this app sections.

I do not know if beta access is immediate. I signed up using the old method.

Oh ok I have updated the server so far I will test that on it’s own for a few days if it crashes again I will upload the logs.

Watching the 4k hdr zs:justice league atm with no problems on the sony tv, no clients have been updated.

Fingers crossed.

No crashes yet but I have been watching the logs to see if something stands out. I keep seeing this every few sec what does it mean?

I found one post saying a unifi controller can cause this but thats all I know sofar

You can ignore the SSDP messages. It is Plex picking up announcements from other devices on the network.

Curious - are we saying that a bad version on the device could kill PMS? Just making sure. I literally had a new device get added and it didn’t even occur to me that this could happen.

Read the thread I linked (read to the bottom of the thread). You can ignore those messages.

Plex is picking up announcements from other devices on the network - cameras, etc. If the announcements are in a format Plex does not understand it will create an entry in the Plex log files.

To add to FordGuy61,

When you see a device constantly advertising via SSDP, something isn’t right with the equipment.

I have my equipment, TVs, and Onkyo on the same LAN.
None of them stream SSDP availability (which PMS will respond to).
PMS will ping them once each cycle (30 seconds) to confirm it’s still available.
