Server Version#: Plex Media Server v1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd - Debian GNU/Linux PC x86_64 - build: linux-x86_64 debian
Player Version#: Plex for webOS v. 5.10.0 (LG C9:
For some video files with multiple audio tracks in different languages, the language seems to be picked up by the Plex player on webOS incorrectly. For instance, when choosing the ‘Danish’ audio track in the player, the ‘Swedish’ track is being played. When playing the ‘English’ audio track, the ‘Danish’ audio is being played and so on.
It isn’t because the tracks are simply tagged incorrectly because the Plex web-player, the Plex app on Android and MPC-HC on Windows plays the audio tracks correctly.
This seems to be happening only when I have a video file with the following five audio tracks: English, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish. Does no one else experience this issue?
I would suggest to use MKVToolNix and remux the audio. It is very quick and easy. It will remove the unwanted audio.
Remove file from linked storage Directory, Add source Files, Deselect the Languages that are unwanted, Select destination Folder, Start multiplexing, Remove/delete old File with all unwanted Languages, add back to Storage directory, Empty Trash in Library.
Thanks, that’s of course an option but I would much rather that I didn’t have to do any postprocessing and just have the Plex player on webOS pick up the languages correctly.
The streams are labelled correctly which I can tell by playing them in VLC/MPC-HC on my computer but also on the Plex app on Android. It’s only with webOS that there’s an issue which is why I’m fairly certain that there’s a bug in that app.
