Audio Files - u can do it better...

Hi Plex !

You are doing really a good job with the app… had some problems, but with your updates you always fix them…

I do have one request / complaint…

Unfortunately I must say that Plex does not do well with the Audio tracks… I live in the Italian language region, and most of my files have 2 languages track… sometimes Plex simply take the English track and does not see the Italian one… for me it’s not a problem… but my wife speaks only Italian No way to get the Italian even if it’s in the file… I know i can remove the english track using other programs… and leave only the Italian one… but i have almost 4TB of files… and i really do not want to spend all of my weekends in the 2017 changing this… the other solution would be to teach english to my wife… but it would be even more difficult  … with VLC all files work well… and the audio tracks are immediately recognized…

Can you do this better maybe with a new update? or do I make any mistake (i doubt…) ?

Cheers from a 99% happy Plex Pass user !

If plex doesn’t automatically select the right audio track, then it might

  • have to be told to do so in the first place (every Plex user account must do this separately)
  • the language of the audio track must actually be properly tagged in the file (mentioning the language in the ‘title’ tag is not the right way to do it)
  • optimized’ and ‘synced’ files may not have all audio and subtitle tracks available from the original file

Please post the Plex XML info of some files where Plex doesn’t see the second audio language.
Keep in mind that Plex doesn’t support ‘external’ audio files. All audio streams must be “muxed” in with the video into one file.
