Start reading, it's 54 pages of annoyingness, but there some screen ahots around the 50 mark. It's inevitably going to happen, but because of NDAs it still just a "dream."
In October Microsoft is releasing support for a ton of new codec support, my guess is expect a Plex announcement soon after (again this is just my guess, I have no powers or insider info).

Have you ever used Plex on a device before? You pay a fee on Android, you pay a fee on iOS, why wouldn't you pay a fee for this version of the application? That's like saying why should you pay a fee to play a game like Halo. You simply wanna play a game to have fun or so.
If you just want to use the DLNA then just use the no interface version of XBox Media player.

These guys/gals need to eat, $5 for an app is cheap, if you dont like their pricing model, leave.

If it's free for PlexPass subscribers, then the Xbox Release certainly explains the recent bump in PlexPass pricing. Won't hear a complaint from me tho, I've gotten more than my money's worth from this app. It's been worth every penny. Can't wait to get this installed!

There's no reason for a fee? Really? How about the company staying in business to continue supporting the project. They need the bills paid somehow, I think the meager amount they make off the paid apps is good and keeps them developing. The fact that the server bit is free to get you up and running and you can install home theater for free and access content on the server (and the web browser version of this).
It costs money to develop apps, get over your entitled attitude. If you can't afford the five bucks (this is assumption based on other apps) then I guess you will have to find something else to use, but their company has a right to try to make some income.

Actually I am a fan boy for Plex, because they are a community that for the most part seems to listen to their users. I also have a job, I know how the real world works and I know putting money into things to help support what you like works (hence the plex pass). If people didn't pay money Plex would probably not be available beyond the PC/MAC, and I also am perfectly fine paying the crazy amount of $5 for an app, I know its utterly outlandish, but I sucked it up and did it. As a commuter, Plex Sync alone to me is worth quadruple what I spent on my plex pass.

Nothing is stopping you from pushing content to your xbox via DLNA. There are ways to that such as the ALLCAST app. Then again the ALLCAST people do charge a fee for their app. There are some free apps out there if you dig around the Play Store. BTW, I'm assuming you have android. But I'm not sure all those free apps out there can see your xbox. Do you even have an xbox? But nothing beats having the Plex client on the big screen, rather than pushing via DLNA from your phone. And if you want the Plex graphics, organization, features, etc. on the Xbox, then you'll have to pay. Plex is a product.. I don't think you have the slightest clue what you're laughing about.
I haven't heard of the "fanboy" word thrown around in the app world. This tells me you're one of those PS4/Xbox clowns who like to waste time knocking on each other's systems. If that's your goal, you're in the wrong place. This is the PLEX community.

I know, right!?!?! I said the same thing when I bought my house, marriage license, car, hospital room for the birth of my child, and other things that some people somewhere spent time working on. I mean really, it's just people. Their time isn't worth anything. I mean, while my job pays me money to do the work, I don't understand why everyone else should expect the same.
In the meantime, it's time for some fine XBox Plex'ing. Yes!!!
ive got the app my xbox one finds the plex server via the media player but the plex app cant find it grrrr anyone else having issues?
Signed up to Plex Pass today to finally use Plex on my Xbox One only to find out that my plex server's version 0.9.9.14.5 (which is the latest version for all NAS Plex servers) is not compatible with the Xbox One App.
Thank you for getting my hopes up Plex. I'm pissed.... just wasted my money! :angry:
