Plex only detects Main (UK) version of a show, not US & AU

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

I recently added Show Name, Show Name (AU) and Show Name (US) on my Plex Server (latest; running in a docker on Unraid).

There are currently files in the main and US versions of the show folders but only the main version is showing in my library.

Is this a known issue or is there a workaround to get them all to appear?

It’s hard to tell from the information you provided.

But I have shows that were US, UK, and AU versions.
If they are named correctly Plex usually doesn’t have an issue with it.

BUT… since the API Version change at the TVDB I’ve found lots of issues. seems they changed database information also. Found shows that have seasons combined into one. There are dates for shows created and aired decades ago that now have current dates.

Best thing to do is go to thetvdb lookup the shows and make sure your titles match so it can get pulled correctly. EVEN if you know that their information is not correct. If you want to go the route of trying to get them to fix it, more power to you. Let me know how it works out.

May I have the name of the show please?

I have a QA test database I maintain here for testing the parsing of names.

If you’ll give me the names, I’ll test all of them.

Thanks,

The shows are in folders exactly as they are in thetvdb:

  • LEGO Masters (US)
  • LEGO Masters (AU)
  • LEGO Masters

I’ve looked as well.

The API is only returning US (with or without “US” suffix) and “AU”.

Please bring this up to TheTVDB folks. It is an upstream database omission.

Yes I realized that last night when I took a closer look and noticed that the US episode is showing up in the original (I’m assuming UK, w/o suffix) show.

In fairness, it just aired, so maybe they’ll get to it.

I’ve been struggling with this as well, glad to see its not just me. I’ve tried the same folder structure as OP, added the year to each one, edited the file name to include the show name and year. Nothing worked. Makes sense if its an API thing on TheTVDB, but weird that they list them correctly on their site, hopefully they fix it soon.

adding the year may help…

Tried adding the year just now, still no luck.

Remember:

If you’ve already scanned it without successful match,

  1. Move the media out
  2. Scan files
  3. Empty Trash
  4. Clean Bundles
  5. Rename
  6. Move back
  7. Scan files.

PMS will have remembered the previously failed match.

Still not pulling correctly, but manually splitting the duplicate and fixing the match using the TVDB ID works.
