Two TV shows – Taskmaster and Taskmaster AU (Australia). Both have their own folder on my Windows Plex Server. Plex can’t tell one series from the other despite the AU filenames being “Taskmaster (AU)” and the UK version being “Taskmaster”.
For some reason, “Fix match” option only shows for the UK files. If I select a Taskmaster (AU) show, the “…” menu does not have “Fix Match” so I cannot force it to use Taskmaster (AU) information.
Frustrating…“Fix Match” should ALWAYS be available to fix Plex’s screwups.
The year is also a pretty important component (“Taskmaster (2015)” and “Taskmaster (AU) (2023)”), especially for the modern Plex Series agent. Adding that to your naming schema will probably greatly reduce the number of times you see something like this happen.
Outside of that, my guess is the same as Tom’s - make sure the entry you’re looking at is the show itself, not a single season. If you add a new show to Plex and there’s only one season, ‘Fix match’ won’t be available in the Recently Added hub, since Fix Match is only available at the show level, and Recently Added will show that one season. E.g. in this screenshot, Show1 will have Fix Match available, but Show2 won’t:
The problem is, Plex is combining both shows (UK and AU) into the same show series, so there is no way to “Fix Match” them separately. That’s the problem I was trying to describe. Right now, both the AU and UK versions think they are the UK version. If I “fix match” on the series, and change to AU version, then both appear to be the Taskmaster AU.
Are you able to split the shows apart first, then fix the match separately? Merge or Split Items | Plex Support. Doing the Plex Dance after renaming the show folders to something like Taskmaster (2015) {tvdb-298905}/Taskmaster (AU) (2023) {tvdb-425755} should also help Plex see them as separate shows.
“Split Apart” was the key! THANK YOU! It split the two shows into two separate shows and both had the “Fix Match” but of course I only needed to fix one and chose “Taskmaster (AU)” and it worked!
