  1. you can run your server on another computer and only use the Shield to run the client

  2. Plex manages language preferences for audio/subtitles centrally on your account. You can e.g. configure it to prefer English audio and subtitles but only show the subtitles with foreign audio (=forced subtitles)

  4. Plex will deal with embedded metadata but it’ll ignore other metadata files (1 exception: Plex will look for external references like an IMDb ID in an existing nfo file to match the file; Plex will however not use other metadata from that file).
    There’s a long-standing feature suggestion to add full support for nfo files.

  5. if you delete files from within Plex (needs to be enabled for the server), Plex does not remove related local extras/assets.
