Hello,
Yesterday I updated my Synology Plex server with the latest version but after reboot my shared folder was not found anymore. I found that was because I was updating an old version that required permission to be changed. I changed all permission and reboot the server but after that changed my share folder was still not found.
Yes I grant plex user read& write privillege to my shared movie folder.
I decided to do a clean plex install since my librairy was built many years ago and want to start fresh. After removing properly my plex server (packager, User, library share folder) and reboot. I re-installed the latest Plex package for Plex web site and reboot after set back privillege.
But now my Plex folder is installed on volume2 and my library still not found.
Could Plex server work if installed on volume2? It’s the same folder of my media but
I read the plex should be on volume1 but can’t change the path when I pick the package to install.
Could I just move the Plex library folder to my volume1?
Any advice will be appreciated, I will try to provide .log file tonight.
I will reinstall here and see why you might have had a problem with it being on Volume 2. There is no logical reason for this happening.
The startup module, which has been in use for over a year now, inquires where the Plex share is prior to launching.
In changing permissions, did you remember to give user Plex full control and ownership of the Plex share (under ‘Properties’) ? Without permission, PMS won’t be able to find the share as per:
Thank you for your explanation related to package center default install path.
What is the last version of Plex server that still support 5.2 you recommend me?
Will latest version could work but risk to be slow or there’s incompatiblity?
