Plex Pass Lifetime account compromised

Greetings,

I purchased a Plex Pass Lifetime subscription in 2014. The account hasn’t been used for several years. I attempted to login to my account tonight and was unsuccessful. The next step that I tried was to reset my password and it said my username didn’t exist. I reached out to Plex billing and they stated that my email was changed in 2022 and they sent me a code to my email then I do not recall and am unable to locate that code. I do still have the PayPal receipt where I paid for the lifetime subscription. The account is mine and I would really like it back and hopefully Plex will correct this as there was a data breach of Plex in 2022. Lastly, I sent another email to billing stating this and I’m now awaiting a reply. Have others been successful in reclaiming their compromised accounts after an extended period of time? Thanks in advance for any information that you are able to provide.

As long as you can prove you purchased the Plex Pass, billing should be able to help you, regardless of how long it was.

It is amazing when you think about it… literally every company has a data breach now. They don’t even make the news anymore unless it’s a massive amount of names. Your information is out there - count on it lol. So be sure to enable multi-factor authentication whenever you can, and preferably some SMS confirmation when you log in. Use a password manager and a really, really long master password.
