Hey guys, quick question to clarify how plex pass works, i have a few family members connecting to my plex server who would like to connect using the Plex Android application, if i was to purchase plex pass would they all be able to use their phones to view content on the server?

Basically what im trying to clarify is plexpass a licence that sits on the plex server (ie everyone that connects to this server locally/remotely gets to use the plex pass features) or is it tied to a single account (ie. each family member would need to have plex pass in order to use plex pass features on my server)

If they are part of your Plex home they will share your Plexpass features. If they are simply shared users they will not.

Plex Pass mostly benefits the server, yes.

Your family members (up to 15) can benefit from your Plex Pass if you added them into your Plex Home.

Be advised that doing so also enables ‘Fast User Switching’, which puts only a 4-digit PIN between your account and that of your family members.
So you might want to reconsider before adding some remote relatives.

I paid $75 for my lifetime membership.
I think that was over 2 years back.

unfortunately plex decides to show more value to some customers, unfortunately still US$150 here… would buy in a heartbeat at the $75 price.
