Plex Pass Purchase - email account issue

I recently purchased a lifetime plex pass. The process did not yield any information as to what email I was using for that purchase plex pass. I have two with suddenlink and one with gmail. I just did this 9/8/2018 and now I can only access my plex servers with one email and there is no indication of plex pass, it still says “Go Premium”.

How can I resolve this? I created one log for each email verbose. Purchasing a Plex Pass should be transparent and easy for any potential customer/client. Quite frankly this was confusing.

As a layperson user, I have no idea whether the pass is for the server and only one, or is it for the email, and which one. I was on my server “Go Premium” , paid the money then an email came and said shiny new plex pass. But nothing and now I don’t know if I have invalid credentials or what because the screen flew by too fast to read.

Please help, my name is Tommy

You buy a Plex Pass for a certain plex.tv account.
You use this one plex account for all your servers and devices. There is no need to use several plex.tv accounts.

A plex.tv account is usually tied to a certain email address.
Which one you used to buy the plex pass, I cannot tell you.
You should have an email in your inbox telling you that the Plex Pass was activated.
Just look at the email address to which this email was sent.

It was an accident or error to have the two as I failed to understand accurately.

The email it was sent to is different was tleighton@suddenlink which I changed to rtleighton@suddenlink thinking I could fix this.

I misunderstood and thought that the information was coming from my brothers server which I was invited to join.

Now I am able to get to the Plex account via browser(IE11) and my username is TommyLeighton with an email of cGNXqrHt8nqFrqZ7xx27@example.com . When I look up payments it shows that email also. Obviously that is not my email so what should I do, change it to rtleighton@suddenlink.net Or tleighton@suddenlink.net ? If its going to change it should change everything including my pass.

Darn. And my ROKU is still accessing my server under the old username/email tleighon/tleighton@suddenlink.net but obviously with no Plex Pass.

Your plex pass is on the account with the cryptic address.

You have created a second plex.tv account (which has no Plex Pass) and signed all your servers and clients into it (which has currently the ‘rtleighton’ email assigned to it.)

So, the thing to do is:

  1. sign out your server(s) from the account tleighton
  2. sign out your web browser and all other Plex clients from this account as well (there is a difference between the web browser and the server logins. The web browser login is found under the user avatar in the top-right corner (Account). The server login is found under Settings - Server - General.)
  3. sign in your web browser to the ‘cryptic’ one
  4. ‘claim’ your server(s) and sign them in to the cryptic account as well
  5. sign in all the other Plex clients to the cryptic account
  6. once you have verified that all clients and all servers are working under the right account, change the email address of the cryptic account to your regular tleighton email

I was able to have my cryptic email Plex Pass switched back to my normal email, which saved me several steps. I did delete my accidental account and now I think I am all good with one account. I did logout of the servers and clients and reclaimed my servers under the correct account and now am showing my Plex Pass. I wish to thank you and the Plex Pass team for your help.
