So I am hoping someone can help me out here. I am new to plex and looking into getting a plex pass however I need something cleared up for me. Our dream vision is to have plex media server running on our NAS. We would then like access to the videos, photos, music etc or our nvidia shield, two Android cell phones, and an apple iPad. If we buy a plex pass does that give us access to the apps for the above devices for free? Also is the plex pass attached to an email address? For example if we get a plex pass and signup with the email address houseofplex@gmail.com. Would we just need to sign in with that email address on the above devices to get the free download of plex without any restrictions? Thank for your help.
thank you for the article, it was helpful. However it still did not answer my question. Is the plex pass tied to an email address? Both my wife and I have android phones that are setup with two different google accounts. We would just use one account for the plex pass and then login in with email address and password on plex?
The Plex Pass is tied to a plex.tv account.
It should be the account, into which your server is signed into.
All mobile plex apps which are signed into the same account, will unlock the mobile app automatically.
If you invite some other plex users into your Plex Home, they “inherit” the right to use the mobile apps for free from your Plex Plass.
The number is limited to 14 accounts and all those persons are also able to use Fast User Switching. Which means they should all be persons who are living with you in the same household.
Ideally for best security any ‘home’ users should have their own separate Plex account/email, then invited into the home. They do not need the plexpass.
