That is not the case. For this kind of functionality, you would need a full Plex Pass.
The Remote Watch Pass would only allow yourself to stream remotely from a plex server (either your own, or a shared server from a different Plex user).
If you don’t have a full Plex Pass, your son would need a Remote Watch Pass of his own.

There was no point, if you yourself don’t plan on streaming from your own server while you are away from home.
A shared server is a Plex server belonging to a different Plex user. From your son’s perspective, your server is a “shared server”.
Either
- you get a full Plex Pass (instead of the Remote Watch Pass you currently have), or
- he gets a Remote Watch Pass of his own

It is not currently possible to remove the payment method from an account while there is a subscription on the account, sorry.

As mentioned, it is not currently possible for us to remove payment method details from an account while there is a subscription on the account. I wish I could do that for you, but it is not currently possible.
You can cancel future renewal of the subscription at any time, from the https://account.plex.tv/ page when signed in to the account. The subscription would then remain active until the next renewal date. At that time, the subscription would then expire. After the subscription expires, payment details can be removed from the account on the same page.

This is the response after I challenged this method of theirs, if I understood correctly, it tells me that I can cancel the subscription, but the card details remain there until the expiration, which is 05/06/2026.

Ah, I see. So, you cancelled the subscription (or plan to). It is an annual subscription, and goes until June next year. Cancelling the subscription really just cancels the renewal, but does not delete the plan itself. And as long as there is a running plan, you cannot delete the payment info used to pay for it.
Seems annoying, but there can quite possibly be a legal reason a company can maintain payment details for the entire duration of a service, even if there is no current (or future) plan to charge to it again.
Si ho annullato l’abbonamento e scade a giugno 2026, ma al contrario di come dici tu, annullando l’abbonamento, ho potuto cancellare i dati della carta, guarda gli screens che ti mando e dammi una spiegazione su quanto vedi, la conferma dell’annullamento dice che scade il 10/06/2025, invece dove dice che è annuale dice che scade il 05/06/2026, il dettaglio dei pagamenti dice pagato e sopra cancellato, ma i soldi dalla mia carta sono stati presi.
Come devo interpretare queste info che leggo sull’account e dalla email di conferma che l’ho cancellato ?

Yes I cancelled the subscription and it expires in June 2026, but contrary to what you say, by canceling the subscription, I was able to delete the card data, look at the screens I’m sending you and give me an explanation of what you see, the cancellation confirmation says it expires on 06/10/2025, instead where it says it is annual it says it expires on 06/05/2026, the payment details say paid and above cancelled, but the money from my card was taken.
How should I interpret this info that I read on the account and from the confirmation email that I cancelled it?

SE l’abbonamento è disdetto, non c’è nessun motivo legale di tenere i dati in quanto non c’è rinnovo concordato, se io non posso cancellare i dati della carta, per plex è sempre possibile prendersi i soldi anche alla scadenza, non penso che lo facciano, ma non ha senso tenere i miei dati se l’abbonamento io l’ho disdetto e non intendo rinnovarlo.
IF the subscription is canceled, there is no legal reason to keep the data as there is no agreed renewal, if I cannot delete the card data, for plex it is always possible to take the money even at the expiration, I do not think they do it, but it makes no sense to keep my data if I have canceled the subscription and do not intend to renew it.
