I have my Apple TV (current model) set up to use Airplay to send audio to my Sonos speakers. When it works with Plex, it works great. But often, when starting videos, they pause at the beginning and won’t continue to play. I can actually see the first few frames of the video frozen on the screen. If I click pause, then play, maybe 4 or 5 times, it’ll start playing and be just fine afterward. It tends to also be fine on services like YouTube without pausing.
Has this problem been seen by anyone else? I know there are enough moving targets in this scenario that it may be hard to pin down.
I have the same problem, I am using AirPlay to HomePods rather than sonus though. 99% of the time a movie or episode does not start unless I forward 10s or press play/pause a few times.
Does not happen on infuse on the same ATV. Netflix, YouTube etc. all work fine.
Plex client 8.45 with ATV 3rd gen, 2 x HomePods setup as stereo pair.

Just an update, I ran all three of the popular options on Apple TV with Airplay:
Plex stops at the beginning, and occasionally works after a few tries. It has taken me 10+ pause-play attempts to get it to play sometimes.
Jellyfin (Swiftfin) starts immediately, but doesn’t wait for Airplay to connect to Sonos, so the audio is out of sync.
Emby pauses for sync (at the same spot where Plex pauses) but does starts playing, and seems to work consistently with audio properly synced. So Emby handles this properly.
I don’t know what Emby is doing differently from Plex on this one, but it’s the only option that’s working correctly.
Do you think this has anything to do with DNS?
Maybe it began with TV OS26?
Either way you might restart PMS, replicate the issue and
post your debug mode ATV4K log and Plex Media Server.log
so the experts can have a look.
