Hey folks. I saw a post a while back with someone having similar issues to me but didn’t appear to be solved. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
I’m running Plexamp headless casting to a Sonos Port, but the same thing happens when casting from the Android or iOS apps. Whenever I start playing a song, album or playlist, it plays fine for about 20 seconds then pauses. I press play and everything works fine and won’t pause by itself again, unless I start a new song, album or playlist.
Happens almost every time, but only when casting to Sonos. This happens with local files and Tidal tracks. Curious if anyone is experiencing the same thing. Seems like it could be a Sonos issue, but I’ve only ever experienced it with Plexamp.
Unfortunately this is related to how the Sonos + Plex integration is done, via a cloud proxy; it’s just not super reliable. You’re much better off using either AirPlay if the Sonos supports it, or Plexamp Headless into the Port, which gives other benefits as well.
Ok thanks for the reply. I’m running Plexamp as a VM in Proxmox controlled via Echo Show 15 browser, so no Airplay option I’m afraid and direct audio out is tricky, but I’ll give it a try. Appreciate the info.
