Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476
I know the PhAzE Plex plug has been deprecated but does anyone know if it will still run under Unraid 6.6.6? Seems that the Plex server keeps crashing and I’m wondering if its now time to make the move to the Docker container. Also, I haven’t been able to get to the Plex logs.
I’ve been putting it off because I’m afraid something will happen to my 36TB library by making the change. I found some instructions a year ago but I don’t know if there are better recommendations. I would surely welcome any help you could provide!
I looked up the instructions I had previously, but they really are for moving from unRAID 5 to 6 and moving Plex to Docker. Not sure if the instructions would be the same to follow for me since I am already running unRAID 6.6.6. Transcode failures are becoming chronic now and I am hoping running Plex under Docker would help it.
Ok I’m in the muck. I am trying to setup the official Plex docker on my unRAID system and having no luck. I’ve backed up the /config folder which was 100GB in size. I’m not a 100% certain about the path names but I set my transcode to /mnt/cache/appdata/Plex/transcode; data path to /mnt/user/ (since all my media shares are located in this folder).
Under the Docker tab it shows it is running. The port mappings were the same as I had under the plugin. But I can’t connect to the Plex Media Server through either the WebGUI or any Plex application. What I happening?
Copy it to where you want to store the containers data
Setup container, mapping it’s /config (if you go with lsio) to where the Plex data is located
Map your content into the container, at the paths where they were originally
Start your Docker Plex and look at what it does with: docker logs -f plex
That should be it
Tho nothing should happen with your data, you only lose all the metadata - which has to then be redownloaded and such - if you were to start from scratch that is

Wow, i only just now saw what you wrote above - nevermind
@dchamb - just curious if you got it migrated successfully. if you did could you please share what you did?
I am trying to do the same and it is not reading my library and saved config - asking me to set up please server from scratch.
Unfortunately no. I gave up on it for now because I didn’t have the time to investigate why it didn’t pick up my configuration. It also was too confusing to decide which Docker app to use. Little to no documentation exists on the available Docker apps on how to migrate from the plugin. Fortunately for me the problems with the PhAzE plugin seemed to settle down for the moment.
Hopefully someone out there can provide a step-by-step guide and the recommended Docker to use. For the record, I was trying to use the one that Plex has on their website.
