Plex photos app not showing library

Hi all,

My Plex server is set up correctly and everything shows up in Plex Web. I can see my photos, films, series, and music without any issues there.

The problem is with the Plex Photos app on Android: the photo library does not appear at all. The app opens, but the photo section is completely blank.

Has anyone run into this before? What could cause the Android Photos app to show no library while Plex Web still works normally?

A few details:

  • Server is running and accessible

  • Photo library is visible in Plex Web

  • Movies, series, and music are also visible in Plex Web

  • Android Photos app shows nothing for the photo library

On my Android phone, I was asked to install Plex Photos (Early Access), maybe you could try that?

Also, I do not see my photo library located on my PC Plex server listed in the Android app. There is a link to Plex photos now when I show all libraries > Show all Libraries.

After I installed Plex Photos, I selected the photo library on my PC. I don’t have photos on my other servers.

I will try that. But anyways, wasn’t it suposed to show the library in the normal app?
Do you see the photo library in the web?

yes I do see photos in Plex/Web but not on the android app until I tap on the Plex Photos link., then I see the photos in my library on the PC.

I don’t know why the photo library link does not appear in the app though.

Afaik in their announcement in March they’re getting rid of the photos app.
