Plex Photos - Recently Added Photos does not present when files are in subfolders

Server Version#: 1.31.3.6868
Player Version#: Any player. I use Plex Web, Plex iOS, and Plex for Apple TV

I am trying to make Plex Photos a viable option for presenting photos to any available player so that it presents recent photos for viewing. I currently sync from Google Photos to my Plex Media Server (Ubuntu Linux) and it has a particular folder layout for the files. The server does see the photos but will not present a “Recently Added Photos” section on my home page. I believe anything in subfolders will not present. If I add a folder with photos at the root, it presents. This seems like a bug as that would not be desirable.

I’m hoping to find a way to gracefully present recently added photos and grant quick access to browse those. I like the folder structure I have in place rather than lumping everything into a single folder.

Yes, this is exactly the problem I’m seeing!
If you look at the other thread I started, you will see the investigations I’ve done on this.
I’m pretty sure the problem appears if there is more than one layer of folders within the root of the photographs archive folder.
If there are only subfolders one level down, it’s fine, but the moment you put a subfolder into a subfolder, the whole thing stops working!
The problem is only with the Plex Web application that’s bundled with the server, all the other Plex apps I’ve tried display things correctly. The current version is 4.100.1, but the fault has been present for a very long time!
@OttoKerner did feedback the problem to the developers ages ago, but there’s no sign of any action on it.
Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks @JaysPlex and @Dave-H for pointing me to the other thread. I’ll resolve this thread with that link again below:
