so i have set up a home server and installed plex within the last week.
my question is…cant seem to find an option to view pictures in folder layout.
it’s available in the music section but not in the pictures. am i missing something here?
appreciate the help, totally new to linux and plex so please forgive me if this has been discussed.

sorry, should have been more specific.
was referring to subfolders. yes that is an option in the main folder but not subfolders.
seems crazy it would not apply to all.
Are you are using that second menu? (not the “by XXXX” menu)
I have a folder I just made called parent folder and in that I have a folder called sub folder. there are other loose photos in each.
sooo, I do not get a folders option under Photos(second menu), it says “timeline and albums”. no folder option.
I only get that under the “by xxxx”, (third menu option).
When i’m navigating my music folder that option is there and it cascades down through all the subfolders. why wouldn’t it be the same for the Photos. Once your in folder view it should be the same from there until you switch it back.
I have subfolders with subfolders and then some. IDK, kind of a pain in the ■■■■ but i’ll deal with it.
just curious, is that the latest version of plex you have pictured? I just installed this 4 or 5 days ago so i’m not completely sure of what i’m running.
I’m using openmediavault with docker. downloaded the linuxserver/plex version .
like i said i’m completely new to this. been build windows computers since the 90’s but i’m a little out of my realm with this stuff.
The learning curve has been steep.

I am running 1.18 of server which did update the local web app to 4.8.3. it is the Plex Pass beta version. but you should not need update it.
It sounds like you are just using the local web app that is with 1.17 via ipaddress:32400/web. try using the hosted version which is also as 4.8.3 https://app.plex.tv/desktop instead.
(also i would just use the hosted version in general. it will always be the latest version of web app)
the newest web app has some more changes as well like the customizable home screen.
still the same using the hosted version.
when viewing a folder with subfolders, there stil is no options to switch to folder view. oh well
