Plex Player Beta.. Pictuer quality is bad on Apple Tv 4K

as i switch on the enhanced video player option… the picture quality is not good… too much brightness and colors are no good… but when i switch that opton off and goes for normal… Excelent picture quality and details of 1080P 2gb file on 4K OLED TV… so it seems the new enhanced video quality player is not working good at the moment on Apple tv 4K…

Oh noes, something doesn’t play right! How do I report it?

Providing detailed info when you encounter a playback issue will help us investigate (and resolve!) the issue quickly, so things improve for everyone.

• Test whether you see the same playback problem with the old player (see the information on switching back below)
• Reproduce the playback issue with the NEW player
• Grab logs from your app (iOS App Logs or Apple TV App Logs)
• Save the “XML file” for the library item you tried to play (XML File Information )
• If possible, create a small sample file (Generating Sample Files) of the video causing the issue, verify that the sample still causes the issue, and then upload that sample to somewhere such as Dropbox or Google Drive
• Report your issue in our iOS Beta or Apple TV Beta forums with details about what exactly you experienced. Be sure to attach your logs and “XML file” and link to the sample file.

Do I really have to do all that?

We know it sounds like a lot, but it’s not as bad as it might first seem. It’s super important to get this information to allow us to investigate and resolve the issues, though. We all want the issue fixed and working, right?

With this new foundation we’ll have the ability to improve our format support and will be considering things like this for future improvements. For now, please let us know if you encounter any formats where the new player provides a worse experience that the old player.

Looks great on our Apple 4K TV’s with Samsung 1080p.

The only thing we’re missing is the skip forward and backward 10 seconds using the remote. Absolutely needed to make the new layer useful on an Apple TV.

Oddly I find it works via CEC controls if I pause. Left and right arrows do 10 seconds. FF and REW do nothing, but ‘next’ does a 30 second skip. Actually the last two work without pausing.

Another thing I miss is being able to use the Play/Pause button to resume playback after you pause. Oddly, the Play/Pause button works to pause, but not to un-pause.

I’m confident they will get this working, since they said they are adding standard remote gestures. I hope it comes soon because my wife is complaining!
