I have been using PLEX for nearly 2 years and love it. Until recently, all TVs that I have commissioned to work with my PLEX setup have either been HD TVs using an external Roku Ultra device or 4K TCL Roku TVs. All has been fine.
Recently, I purchased a Sony X900H 4K TV and set it up to use the Android PLEX Player. All is good, except for this: it will not reliably play “high-resolution” (mostly 24/96 FLAC files purchased on line) audio files. I start a set, it plays a track or two, then locks up. Anyy fuurther attempt to play any additional track produces no sound. I can back out of that set and try to play a different set only to get an error message. Often PLEX Android will just crash.
At this point I cannot play any audio files, whether “high-res” or normal 16/44 FLACs. My only recourse is to unplug the Sony TV to allow it to reset.
Please note:
- all other media types (videos, movies, TV shows, photos) play just fine.
- once the TV is reset I can play standard audios (16/44 or MP3 audio books) to my hearts content, as long as I refrain from playing and “high-res” audio files.
- these 24/96 “high-res” audio files do play properly on my TCL Roku TV.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
