I’m wondering if anyone have any suggestions about the situation that I am running into.
I used to play TV show’s episodes using Plex on Roku. It was working fine for some episodes, but some others always have issues with loading embedded subtitles. The TV show’s episodes are mkv files with multiple subtitles embedded in them.
And then I read online saying Apple TV is better vs Roku about the subtitles issues. But with Apple TV there’s noticeable lag between video and audio. The lag is not the same (they’re different for different TV shows).
The suggestion that I read online was to enable the old player or something like that. With this settings, all the shows are ended up getting transcoded and I will get the loading circle all the time. The transcoding is showing along the lines: “App cannot direct play this item. No direct play video profile exists for protocol http, with container mkv, and video codec h264.”
Any suggestions that I need to look at?

The issue with delayed audio started with the recent Apple TV update. It was working fine before.
