all my stereo files are played back in mono on the OSX Player .
They play ok on the Iphone player app and directly on the server .
Can you please help

- During playback on Plex player on your Mac, go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop, click on Settings (near the upper right corner), then on the scrolldown to your Server, and then below that, click on Dashboard. Post a screenshot of the Now Playing section (expanded), like this:
- Post the XML of a file that shows the issue:

Same here.
I noticed this issue playing some music using headphones. It’s the same for movies, although the audio of one movie was left side only.
plex.tv plays in stereo, plexamp plays in stereo, plex for MacOS plays in mono.
I prefer to use the latter though.
I use version 1.3.1.916-1cb2c34d.
Hopefully Plex will fix this issue with their flagship software asap…

Can you please verify if those music files (that don’t play in stereo) are in FLAC format or a different format?
Also, can one or both of you try the 1.4 Preview release?

Also, can you both please post your full hardware specs and macOS version (“About this Mac”)?
Are you using any external sound equipment (speakers, headphones, soundbar, DAC, etc)?
I can’t duplicate this so far on my iMac with external speakers with plain old mp3 files.

I am using a RME Fireface sound card . Connected Dynaudio speakers and sometimes listening through various headphones.
I am in a sound studio so I have a lot of things happening but i am sure the mono issue is not hardware related. Everything else is stereo and the web player is stereo just when I play through the player it is mono
