I installed Plex on my laptop but would like to have it on my desktop as well without turning the laptop on. Is this possible? Should I uninstall it from my laptop?
You can, or not. You can have as many servers as you want.
how can I do that? I’d like to put it on my desktop so I don’t have to turn my laptop on. I have tried but I must be doing something wrong because it give me a message that I have to turn the laptop on. Can you help? I’m a little down about this.

Are you trying to install the server, or a player app? The server setup shouldn’t complain about that.
I have the server but it tells me that I have to turn on the laptop.
Take a look at this guide and see if it helps. I can’t tell what’s going on from what you’ve said.
Ok. I will check it out. On Plex with puts an exclamation ! mark where the name of my laptop is.
