Running v1.5.1, still seeing it hanging in Windows 10 (like this post, https://forums.plex.tv/t/windows-player-freezing-during-playback/466744/7)
OK, I think I finally figured it out! It’s source format related. I played back a .ts file … no issues, 2.5 hours. Then tried hevc => froze within 30 seconds. Tried it a second time (both files), same thing.
Really seems like a problem playing back hevc (and confirmed, it’s Direct Play).
I’m getting this same issue on my laptop.
i can play hevc files if i start the mat the beginning, i can seek around, but if i close it and try to resume partially watched episode it freezes no matter what.
I’ve attached my plex log
the beginning is me starting plex, playing an hevc episode at beginning and quickly seeking through, then closed it
at 16:43 after the linebreak i manually added.
its me trying to watch resume the same episode. i just get a black screen
waited a few mins and click pause at which point plex freezes.
I’ve uninstalled and installed fresh same issue. other players on different computers seem to work fine

Sort of glad to see this, only because I’m not crazy … LOL. I have never gotten this to work, interesting that you’re also seeing it with HEVC files.
