Windows Client crash with HEVC H265 files

Server Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.25.3.5409-f11334058-x86_64.qpkg on a QNAP TS-251 firmware: 5.0.0.1891
Player Version#: Version 1.39.1.2763-300bb607 on windows 10

Good morning

I use plex server on Qnap with clients on windows 10 and Android.

Android:
Everything works flawlessly

Windows:
I have problems with HEVC H265 files:
I add them to the library, ok.
I run the playback, plex crashes
I restart plex, it tries to resume the play and hangs, until I kill it with the task manager.

The only way I found to regain control is:
Open plex through the web manager of Qnap
Delete the file from the library
Then the windows client does not try anymore to resume play of the file and I can regain control.

I have gathered 3 files with the problem and I can give you the way of access by MP so you can download them.

Thanks.

Another thing

I can perfectly read the files with VLC through an smb share.

I have had the same problem for a while now (Not consistently, it can happen at any time during playback but most often at the start), although I am not sure whether it only happend for HVEC files. Also it is only a problem on the plex for windows app, it works flawlessly on the online version, the Plex for Media PCs and the android app.

Also another way to fix the issue for me was to restart plex and spam click on the “close player” cross, if you are fast enough it stops the crash loop.

Thanks, but this is not a solution, and the "spam click " trick doesn’t work for me.

This bug makes plex unusable until the file has been removed from the file system.

I’ve upgraded both plex server and player this morning to the latest versions, same problem.
