In the North America, we all pretty much get two weeks of EPG content. However, for over two years now, the TV listings grid only lets us pick days from the first week. I’ve never seen another DVR software or TV listings site that purposely restricts you from seeing all of the EPG content. I just don’t get it. It’s such an obvious design deficiency and it really should not be that hard to put additional choices in the date selection dropdown. Yet this just never gets addressed. Plex, is there something that I’m not seeing here? Could you please help me understand?
Theoretically, you can see the listings for day 14 if you have 5 or 10 minutes to select day 7 and then press the right scroll button 336 times (30 minutes at a time – 48 times per day).
Plex, over the past two years you have apologized several times for the state of Live TV/DVR and promised to improve things. Yet, obviously stupidities like this don’t ever get addressed. And this one really should not be so hard – I mean how hard can it be to add more choices to a grid drop down?
Do we really have to basically start a petition by adding a suggested enhancement and then try to get people to vote for it (with our limited 5 votes) just to get such obviously deficiencies addressed? That whole system really appears to designed more to give you cover from never fixing anything. But I digress … again …
And, there are obvious valid reasons why one would want to see the 2nd week – say you’re going to be away for a while. Or, during certain times of the year when shows are starting, you want to make sure that all the upcoming new shows in prime time get recordings set. But the bottom line is “why have two weeks of EPG data if you won’t let us see it?”
