I would like to have remote access so I can use plex on my mobile app. How do I find the port number to allow remote access? Also how do I set up my Plex Media Server with a fixed IP adress to make a direction connection with my Iphone?
you need to get remote access working first. if UPnP is not working then you need to do a manual port forward in your router. the port will be whatever UPnP auto set up or whatever you used in port forward rule.

So your router has a firewall to not allow random traffic from the internet to pass through. Your phone needs to know how to reach your computer it needs to get through your router to do so.
Ports are basically like doors through that firewall. Port forwarding is like having a doorman let specific traffic come though and the doorman tells the traffic which computer or device to go to on your network.
I don’t know what brand of router you have but the port forwarding settings are usually in the WAN or Firewall settings. but different manufacturers will have things differently labeled.
