I have two fairly new Sony smart TVs. Both have PLEX installed. PLEX will work fine for perhaps two days. Then, for no apparent reason, when I launch PLEX it will briefly go full screen as if it is starting, but then crash back to the Android home page. This happens whether PLEX is installed on the Sony shared internal memory or installed on a separate USB flash drive. Once this happens, nothing will fix it other than uninstalling and reinstalling PLEX. This is maddening because it happens every couple days. Have others experienced this issue? Is there possibly any fix? Thanks!
I’m using Plex on two different Bravia TVs (2018 and 2020 I think) and the only issue I experience is “network disconnected” on the home page 90% of the time. Other library homes work, but I can never get the main one to refresh once it decides it’s offline. I don’t think I’ve had the app crash more than a few times, and never right at launch. I’m running a Windows 10 server.
I suggest you examine the Plex Server logs on your ReadyNAS. Look for a timestamp that corresponds to the first crash after a successful client-side reinstall.
