Dear all, I’m another one of those having the same issue here…any news on how to return to a previous version or possibility of solve this?
unfortunately there is no way for you to roll back to a previous version of the app.
When will we see some action on this then? C’mon PLEX, an update please.
Please see this announcement for detail:
I downloaded the Plex client for PS3 to utilize the Movie sound tracks that i could direct to my Network Receiver. My LG does not accept some Movie sound tracks.
Well it is so slow to load anything, dashboard not so bad. Libraries and contents ridiculously SLOWWWWW…

I hardwired it yesterday and was much faster than wireless, which is odd as my WiFi has no lag noticeably,
so Plex on playstation is usable now. Too add DLNA is faster than Playstation3 Client.
I have just surrendered to using my Samsung HDTV Smart app. the PS3 app is ridiculous and so so so so so so sssssssssslllllllllloooooooooowwwwwwwwww. Not worth the effort. I will go back to the PS3 app when the definition goes back to 1080p and when the app stops moving slower than old people having ■■■. LOL! (BTW, I use the Roku stick Plex app upstairs connected to our bedroom tv. No issues there. Damn you, Sony!!! LOL!)
Out of complete and total frustration, last PM I replaced my PS3, which has a wired GigE network, with an Amazon Fire Stick. The Fire ran circles around the PLEX app on the PS3!!!
Curious when we can expect the release of a upgraded PLEX client app for the PS3/4?
The PS3 version is just too slow to use so I ditched it
The problem I have now is that on the PS4 version the audio goes out of sync whenever fast forwarding or rewinding.
You would think the PS4 version would be much more stable aswell.
For the past few months I have been telling my son all about how I am setting up my PLEX server, consolidating and organizing decades of digital content for on-demand viewing. So last weekend, I decided to show-off a bit of my progress. I fired up the PS3 connected to our (non-smart) living room TV, downloaded the PLEX app, restarted the PS3 (for good measure, and… VOIL–OOPS!(1)… several minutes later, the PLEX client started SLOWLY loading a list of available media files. <Insert "Sad Trombone>
A brief period of checking into possible causes (testing the PS3’s network connection, restarting the server, testing server response on other devices, etc) showed that the problem is localized to the PS3 alone. And even though the PLEX clients on my Sony Smart TV (Opera TV) and various laptops/tablets/desktops work very well, as a shiny-new, fresh-out-of-the-box PLEX user I was beginning to wonder if I had set something up wrong when I had the problems others are describing here with to the PLEX client on thePS3.
Despite the fact that others are having problems, I find just a bit comforting to know it isn’t just me having this trouble. We humans are strange that way, I guess!

The PS3 client was MUCH better before this last update pushed. (11/15, I think)
I gave the DLNA side of PLEX a try last PM… Worked flawlessly! Guess that will have to do, for the time being.
I can’t understand why they force you to update,
The PS3 version worked really well everything was perfect until they pushed an update out.
I also don’t understand why it was released without testing and why we can’t just go back to when it worked fine.
I realize this is a really old discussion, but I have to ask this question. So how is it then, that other media streaming apps, like NetFlix for example, work incredibly well on Sony PS3? Both Plex and NetFlix are basically the same; they use signalling type messages to a server to stream content from a server, the media streams and the app ‘plays’ that media on the hardware. I can use NetFlix for hours and hours on PS3 and it continues to work flawlessly with no performance issues, but after just watching one movie with the Plex app it turns into a unusable swap hog. Why?
