Hi All,

Yes, 2.6.3 is a mess. Worst version so far.
I am so disillusioned with plex
We’ve had this thread (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/180195/ps3-navigation-gets-slower-over-time-since-v2-4-19#latest) since Nov 2015 and since then release after release the app on playstation has got worse and worse to where it is today with the 2.6.3 version being completely unusable. The plex team are either unwilling or unable to fix such a basic fundamental problem and that’s not to mention their QE testing team. How any company can release such substandard piss poor quality updates is beyond me.
So after 2+ years as a paying customer I will take no more, my subscription is being cancelled.
Yeah, I’ve noticed this as someone using plex on ps3. I recently considered upgrading but after recent updates i believe I may end up reconsidering. As it takes 2 minuites to move from one menu to another.
@Plexer2804 Glad I’m not the only one that noticed
I use Plex on more than my PS3 so I KNOW they can deliver a better product. Saturday night I was scrolling through my movies with my friend to find something to watch. I had to exit and reload the app 2 times because of unresponsiveness. It’s getting pretty crazy. And I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen anyone actually looking at problems on here and being active. Everything seems to be elsewhere. Mostly Roku I see lots of updates for.
I’m having the same problem, a shame as it plays really when it does, just the interface is now impossibly slow.
Same here. It looks like the HDD of the PS3 is going crazy whenever I browse; but this happens only with Plex. It has come down to a unusable state.
same problem here, i’m using the dlna function now in plex, so i can watch the parts i want on my ps3 without the app, the app isn’t doing what it should. i came in here to see if i was the only one with that problem, but i got my answer
Same here, this problem seems oddly recent. The navigation is awful. In fact it’s so awful that when it hangs and you try to quit, It might crash the console. I understand that PS3 is not the best platforms to develop for but at least responding with anything would be nice.
The PS3 Plex app is basically garbage. On other devices it works fantastic. I know folks on here are getting mad at Plex developers, but I wonder if Sony and their playstation is the problem here?
Hard to really know without any moderated feedback from anyone. I really would have loved to contact some kind of support but apparently there isnt any. You just login to these boards and complain about stuff to each other I guess.
Absolutely ridiculous that this is not being looked into. We paid money for this product to be used! Instead it is being neutered without any discussion from the developers. Why have they not been talking?!
All we want to know is that it is going to be looked into!
I’m really sorry for not getting back to you guys earlier, I completely understand your frustrations and it’s completely understandable. The problem is PS3 gives us extremely limited resource which makes our app run as slow as it is.
However I promise you we are working on making the PS3 app work with the resources we get. We are trying to get a PS3 specific release out soon that should address some of these performance issues.

I figured that was the case since the PS3 is notoriously difficult to develop for.

As a sympathetic developer, if there’s anything I can personally do to help please reach out.

Thank you, this was all I wanted, a confirmation that something is being done about this issue.
@key.one: While I understand the restrictions you are under with Sony I do not have any sympathy regarding the latest problems introduced in the 2.6.3 update. Your test teams and management should have known this update was worse than what was in use already and should not have recommended to publish the update.
Regardless, this is somewhat simple to get back to a working system, ROLL BACK TO THE 2.5.7 VERSION. Why 2.6.3 is still live and being used is beyond me! Do the right thing now, roll back and then fix the overall problem in your own time and push an update when you are ready, not before.
Yep im having this issue too. Been using plex for years and the last update just ruined it on ps3.
How do I roll back to an earlier version so that PLEX works properly on PS3?
How do I roll back to a version of PLEX that will run better on PS3?
As an end user WE can’t roll back that the point, the plex team need to do it and seem unwilling (or maybe unable) to do so!
