I was running Plex fine this morning and then the video froze, Now whenever I try to cast to my chromecast it connects and says ready to cast but when I start a video It just starts playing on my pc and not on the chromecast, Tried uninstall, tried restarting the extension in chrome, tried logging out of the server then reclaiming it, still nothing. Also the ip it connects to is http://127.0.0.1:32400 and that is not my ip but changing the ip in the address bar to my ip still does not fix the issue.
127.0.0.1 is the local loopback IP of your computer. If the Plex Server is on the same computer you use for the Plex client then this is ok. Have you power cycled the Chromecast device?
I have power cycled the chromecast yes, Also if I try to cast youtube it casts the youtube logo on chromecast but does not stream the video
Have you tried casting from a different device, like a phone/tablet/another PC?
I have not, Will try that now

So im guessing that the problem is with the videostream for google chromecast extension given that youtube will also not properly cast from this pc?
So I tried casting with a VLC nightly build and got that to work from this pc, Fired Plex back up and its back in action
Sounds like something got messed up on that PC. Glad you got it working again.
