Can't cast plex to Chromecast

I am unable to cast Plex from iOS or Android. I’ve tried casting to the newest/latest Google TV Chromecast, and I’ve also tried casting to my NVidia Shields. I can cast Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc., only Plex does not work. I tried searching around and I can’t find any resolution. Has anyone else run into this, and how did you fix it?

I have also tried on two different servers, Synology NAS and Windows 10, both on version 1.28.2.6106.

I select cast, and the TV side says ready to cast. Once I hit play on any media I have tried, I get “Loading”, then I get “Sorry, something went wrong”

All devices are on the same network, no VLAN hopping or anything like that going on.

Hi,

I seem to be having the same issue casting from Android to my Chromecast Ultra.

I am able to connect to the Chromecast, but the media that I select does not appear and it just remains as “Ready to Cast”. If I try to play I get “Sorry Something Went Wrong”

I have managed to get it to work a couple times by fluke by restating my Chromecast or connecting & disconnecting, but I cannot see why this stopped working all of a sudden.

I have resorted to Casting from My PC via Google Chrome which is still working.

Google App Version: 9.7.0.34811
Plex Server Version: 1.28.1.6104 on Win10

I have attached the debug log from the App if anyone can help decipher the issue.

If casting works from my PC, that will be OK. I’ll test that later today.

@kokokh Nope, I get the same “Sorry, something went wrong” when trying to cast from my PC.
