why does plex keep recording multiples of shows already recorded like married with children? see screen shots and logs.
None of the logs submitted covers the time period of the actual recordings but the 20180113_00-28-43 file did contain the entries for scheduling. Is the location you showed in your image part of the library that is used for recordings? The reason I ask is Plex is not seeing that it has a recording for the episodes as shown by the log entries below:

I do not get duplicate recordings. When I first started with Plex I was seeing the same episodes recorded numerous times. Once I realized why this was occurring I modified my recording setup. Plex when determining what shows to record looks in the recording library, not your entire Plex system. I was recording to a library called DVR with a single storage location on a small SSD. Then as part of my post processing I would move the file to a different storage location that was part of my TV Shows library. Once the file was moved the DVR library could not see the files recorded so the next time the episode aired it would be recorded again. Once I realized why this was happening I changed my TV Shows library to include the storage location I wanted to use for recordings, deleted my scheduled recordings, and created them again choosing the TV Shows library for recording to and the storage location (SSD) I wanted recordings to use.
yes the storage location and the dvr location is one in the same currently and has been. the only thing that may be factoring is we run a HPE Command View 1/8 G2 Autoloader tape back up with bacula backup software. that may be periodically backing up as something is recording or downloading, but never seen it lock the drive or files from use. i was thinking about having it dvr to one and move to a storage after but now that you mention that doesnt seem like its a good idea unless they can fix the dvr to search both locations before recording. and all this is on latest plex and ubuntu exit
Welcome to Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.4.0-87-generic x86_64)
I’m still running PMS 1.6.1 and haven’t had this problem in months. Recently Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street on PBS started doing this:
The ‘duplicates’ are running on a PBS standard definition sub-channel. Makes me think it’s an EPG vs. Library matching problem. I’m just going to wait until it’s done then kill the SD versions.
Interestingly I’m getting a simlar problem on a PBS show - Antique Roadshow. PMS kept recording the same episode (4 times!). I watched the episode and deleted it, but then it recoreded again. I double checked, I have the DVR set to record new episodes only and delete one day after watching. Don’t know what’s going on.
None of my other DVR shows are doing this.
issuse still happening deleted the entire series and folders and started over and still doing it. also attached recent logs for assistance. i can always tell when it duplicates cause it doesnt give the play arrow in the recording schedule area.
still having issues with this even after deleting all the files and cleaning the database
