I have a PLEX server that has been running well for years, but recently I encountered a very troublesome problem. As I live in mainland China, I need to use a VPN server on a daily basis. However, I discovered that PLEX remote access mistakenly identified my VPN address as the external IP address, which prevented my external users from connecting to my server properly.
I tried adding PLEX.tv and Sentry.io to the direct connection domain, or setting the LAN IP of the PLEX server as an IP that doesn’t go through VPN routing, which solves the problem. However, a new problem arises where the server’s web page opens very slowly and often cannot perform matching operations on the page, which was normal before.
I believe this is due to the internet blockade in China. I wonder if anyone else has encountered similar problems or if anyone can provide a solution. Thank you!
