I understand this is as intended, but it fails to take into account meta-artists - particularly Various Artists. (I don’t really understand why it is intended - it seems opportunistic but not in any way beneficial - there is no correlation between adding a new artist and believing that metadata for their previous works has been altered.)
I have 793 albums in my Various Artists collections. It is ridiculous that every one of those is rescanned every time I add a new one. It (can) take forever, depending on load, and it hammers the agents unduly.
Please, at least treat VA as a special case, and at best allow this behaviour to be turned off, either globally or per artist. Thanks!
