I just received this email from a company that appears to be affiliating itself with Plex. I am assuming this is a scam / spam since there is nothing on the website here referencing this “new service” which i know the Plex team would if it was legit.

Yeah, I looked everywhere online. I found mysafevpn.com website via google but it will not load or is too slow and I am not patient enough lol. I obviously did not click any of the links in the actual email.
This is absolutely not a Plex affiliated service or offering. If anything, it suggests that mysafevpn.com is super sketchy and we would recommend using almost any other VPN service with your Plex Media Server.
Hey everyone. This is not us! We were also taken by surprise as many Plex employees received the same email, myself included. We’re seeing very similar emails going out from the same outfit to former Boxee users as well. We are investigating and reporting them to their service and mail providers, but believe this could be related to the 2015 forums breach.
Thank you guys for the clarifications. I figured as such but wanted to make everyone aware and confirm just to be safe.
Got the email ad too … seems Fraudulent 
Got the ad too. I automatically dismissed it as there was no reference to any Plex-owned email there. Also, the plain layout, something Plex never does.
