Plex scanner seams to get stuck on a random artist when scanning music files

there seems to be a bug with the plex scanner where it would get stuck when scanning music files and label all albums as a single artist. the tracks are labelled correctly and show up fine in music bee no problem. but when accessing plex from plexamp or plex app, I would have the same random artist across a whole load of my albums.

I’m not sure what is causing this issue but did try this option Plex Media Scanner stuck on certain music albums - #5 by winstonyin with no difference.

I will attach logs to help out. but I’m running windows 10 pro and plex pass user running a beta version. and my media is stored on an external drive.

That’s not “stuck” in the sense of the linked forum thread.
You have activated ‘Prefer local metadata’, right?

You must separate your music by this folder structure.
Music > AlbumArtist > AlbumTitle > Tracks

Failing to do so results in utter failure of ingesting your music into Plex. Particularly when the above mentioned checkbox has been activated.

You cannot have folders with diverse tracks to form “playlists”.
You cannot have folders full of unsorted stuff.
